Hey there,

Ken from LaunchClub here 👋

Reddit is having a moment in AI search right now.

But a lot of brands are about to waste it…

Google just gave Reddit comments a promotion

Google is adding an "Expert Advice" section inside AI Mode and AI Overviews.

And guess which site even shows up in the example from the announcement

Here’s my take…

Check out the Reddit comment in that screenshot. A genuinely useful answer to a question real people are asking, written by an actual human (notice the “soo good”?)

Which means the question your Reddit strategy should be asking isn't "how do we get mentioned?" It's "where are people asking questions we can answer better than anyone else?"

Find those threads and write the best answer in the room. That's how you earn this new real estate.

Not sure how? Check out the 10 Reddit comment frameworks I use to win visibility for my clients.

Reddit can’t fix this

Seer Interactive dropped some super interesting research the other day.

They used the 2026 Winter Olympics as a live lab to figure out exactly how AI decides who gets mentioned and who doesn't.

To do that, they tracked 231,347 LLM responses across 52 days and 7 AI platforms. They found that athletes with strong:

  • Entity authority (Wikipedia pages, websites, official profiles)

  • Third-party validation (independent coverage from news sites and industry publications)

  • Community discussion (chatter across social)

Averaged 12,174 AI mentions.

Athletes with just one? Just 1,565.

Here’s my take…

This Seer research revealed Reddit is cited 3-15x more than Instagram, TikTok, and X across every major LLM…

But it’s not a silver bullet.

A strong Reddit presence will amplify what's already there (and if you know what you’re doing, you can build one in just 15 minutes a day). But if your brand isn’t mentioned on Wikipedia or the news sites that cover your niche, there's nothing to amplify.

Reddit can add rocket fuel to your AEO strategy. But it can't light the fire on its own 🤷
