Hey,
Ken here 👋
I’ve got a couple examples of the kind of content that’s actually driving LLM traffic this week.
Plus, why it doesn’t matter that ChatGPT never actually cites Reddit.
Let’s dive right in…
The $25,000 tool that drives 50% of this company's LLM traffic
In 2023, the Siege Media folks bought a colour contrast checker for $25,000.
It helps developers and designers test text readability against accessibility standards.

Nothing earth-shattering…
But no chatbot can give you a colour picker. Or a live score that updates as you drag a slider. Or a visual experience inside a text response.
So what do LLMs do instead? They point to the tool.
In fact, Siege founder Ross Hudgens says this single asset drives:
50% of Siege's LLM traffic
26.5% of Siege's total site traffic
1,200+ backlinks from Microsoft, Shopify, Mozilla, Canva
It gets twice as many visits as their homepage, too…

Here’s my take…

Here’s my take…
The content driving the best results right now is the stuff AI can't flatten into a bullet point in a chatbot response.
So, something with a visual interface that does a job people need doing right now, in real time.
Think the Hemingway Editor, where the UX is the product:

Or the Haikei, the interactive SVG shape and background generator:

The barrier to entry isn't technical here. In fact, it’s never been easier to build this stuff thanks to Claude Code. It's just a different way of thinking about what content is.
And I’m going to guess that right now, almost nobody in your space is building it.
ChatGPT never cites Reddit (and why you shouldn’t care)
Ahrefs just dropped a study of 1.4 million prompts looking at why ChatGPT cites some pages and not others.
The stat that caught my eye?
67.8% of all non-cited URLs in the dataset are from Reddit…
And yet Reddit is cited just 1.93% of the time.

Here’s my take…
The question has never been "how do I get ChatGPT to cite my content?"
It's "am I influencing what ChatGPT says?"
And if you’re consistently showing up in the Reddit threads that matter, you’re shaping the narrative.
And I’d take that over citations no one actually clicks any day of the week.
